Valentine's Day · Langebaan Lagoon
The Swim
The Strandloper Open Water Swim takes place on the Langebaan Lagoon — one of South Africa's most celebrated open water venues. Protected, flat, and turquoise, the lagoon is the ideal setting for swimmers of all levels.
Taking place the morning after the Blue Lagoon Triathlon, the Strandloper is a Valentine's Day tradition. Come for the swim alone, or make a full weekend of it — triathlon on Saturday, open water swim on Sunday.
Race Distances
All distances take place in the protected waters of Langebaan Lagoon. Enter as a standalone swim, or combine with the Blue Lagoon Triathlon at a reduced combo rate.
When you enter both the Blue Lagoon Triathlon and the Strandloper Open Water Swim together on the myactive portal, the reduced combo pricing is applied automatically. No code needed — just select both events at checkout.
Registration
The Strandloper is entered via the same myactive portal as the Blue Lagoon Triathlon. You can enter it as a standalone swim or together with BLT.
Visit the Blue Lagoon Triathlon event on the myactive portal. Select the Strandloper as a standalone entry, or add it alongside your BLT entry to get the combo price automatically.
The Strandloper is a standalone open water swim event — not TSA-sanctioned. No triathlon licence is needed to enter.
Enter by 17 January 2027 to receive your event cap. All entrants receive a finisher medal regardless of entry date.

After registration, a bus (included in your entry) takes you from the Athene Centre to the Strandloper start. Start the morning with coffee and rusks around the fire before your swim.
